Australian Cattle dogs, especially the red's, have always been in my family and have always resided on the back door step for the past 30 + years. Growing up they were always by our side and often steered us kids away from trouble on the farm. Dad would say that he knew where us kids were, because the dog was there and on many occasions, lucky they were! This breed is one of the most loyal and loving family dogs you could have, but like all working breeds they need family time, attention, training and exercise. Breeding dogs have a full breed profile (current 2020) from ORIVET.

"Swampyblue" is a recently established small kennel based in West Gippsland Victoria. Here at "Swampyblue" my dogs live as part of the family on the farm.

I was 7 years old when I owned my first pure bred Cattle Dog. I am now well into retirement and I spend countless hours with my dogs and needless to say love this breed. My breeding stock is from renowned bloodlines, that exhibit strength in bone and head, have excellent temperament and quality. I breed for the old style cattle dog, not the "fine", "kelpie type" that has been fashioned for the show ring.
